Mediven® Angio below knee is a RAL medical compression stocking designed for the treatment of chronic venous diseases.  Its unique product features were developed matching the requirements of patients with mixed mild to moderate peripheral arterial disease (PAD) / venous arterial aetiology and/or diabetes mellitus.  It provides effective compression therapy for the treatment of chronic venous diseases while taking care of the arterial situation as well as sensibility disorders especially in the foot and toe area (e.g. diabetic peripheral polyneuropathy).  The safety of mediven angio in the treatment of venous disease with concominant PAD and / or diabetes is also proven by a clinical trial: ¹

Mediven® Angio Features:

• Merino-plush padding in the entire foot from the toes up to above the ankle – to reduce pressure peaks and to avoid lesions at bony predilection points (e.g. ankle, metatarsal heads)
• Low profile flat seam clings to the toes and thus forms an anatomic tip shape for optimum pressure relief at the toes and their base joints. Useful for preventing indentations and for those with neuropathy or pressure sensitivity
• Solid ribbed structure with high longitudinal elongation – eases donning and doffing
• Micro-plush in the entire lower leg – from the toes up to the cuff for a high wearing comfort
• Extra-wide cuff ensures a secure hold and a large-area pressure distribution – avoiding constrictions
• 90°-degree heel ensures an even distribution of the knitted fabric in the heel and instep area
• Two foot lengths available – for an optimum fit and additional toe relief

Intended Purpose

Round-knitted medical compression stocking used for compression of the lower extremities, mainly for the treatment of disorders of the venous system.

• Clima Fresh:
  The integrated Clima Fresh function has an odour-inhibiting effect. This is achieved via special thread technology or via special processing during the production process.
• Clima Comfort*: Clima Comfort ensures that the garment is comfortable to wear. Modern fibre technology wicks moisture away from the skin’s surface quickly and ensures a high level of breathability
• Soft Elastic: Noticeably more toe freedom with closed toe. Increases wearing comfort. Less pressure is exerted on the end of the foot
• Perfect Fit: A very precise fit. Medically effective pressure gradient. Optimal care conditions in standard and made-to-measure version
• Variety: A wide range of variants and special models
• Double Ellipses: The double ellipses on the point and in the crease of the elbow offer freedom of movement. They reduce wrinkles to a minimum to prevent soreness.

Indications: Chronic venous disease stages C0s – C5 according to CEAP

Contraindications: 

• Advanced peripheral arterial occlusive disease (if one of these parameters is present: ABPI < 0.5, ankle arterial pressure < 60 mmHg, toe pressure < 30 mmHg or TcPO2 < 20 mmHg on dorsum of foot)
• Decompensated heart failure (NYHA III + IV)
• Septic phlebitis  Phlegmasia cerulea dolens

Particular attention to:

• Severe weeping dermatosis
• Intolerance to compressive material
• Severe paraesthesia in the limbs
• Advanced peripheral neuropathy (e.g. as seen in diabetes mellitus)
• Primary chronic polyarthritis
