Compression and silicone provide the ideal scar therapy combination.  If applied early in the treatment phase, this combination therapy can act as a prophylactic to minimise the risk of excessive scarring.

As part of the Recovery Care, these products have been developed to aid healing process.

HOW IT WORKS

A therapeutically effective pressure is exerted on the closed wound area so that excessive connective tissue remodelling can be counteracted.  The combination of constant surface pressure from the compression garment, along with the silicone, has a positive effect on the scar tissue and healing.  The silicone creates a moist environment on the scar, keeps the scar tissue soft and prevents it from drying out.  For optimal scar healing, the combination of the compression garment with silicone patches is recommended.
