BENEFITS OF ALGAE
Algae are quite known to have many skin benefits. They are rich in vitamins, antioxidants, fatty acids, micronutrients and minerals.
THE TREATMENT
Here at CozMedix, our warm algae treatment starts with steaming, followed by adipose tissue massage. This stage helps to target and soften the subcutaneous fat under the skin, using our special slimming oil, in preparation for the wrap. It also encourages blood flow to the area to activate better circulation.
The application of the warm algae with additional steam helps to draw out unhealthy toxins, excess fluids and aid slimming. It is also an excellent treatment to relieve aches and pains, improve skin elasticity, boost cell regeneration, reduce cellulite, increase collagen for a firmer, plumper skin texture and for general well-being.
PRE TREATMENT CARE
- Avoid caffeine 2 hours before the treatment
- Avoid alcohol for 24-48 hours
- Hydrate well 24 hours before, 2 litres of water if possible
POST-TREATMENT – HYDRATION! HYDRATION!! HYDRATION!!!
We encourage lots of hydration post-treatment, up to 2-litres of water a day. What you do in-between your treatments has a direct impact on the results. Hydration supports the lymphatic system to further rid of toxins and to keep your skin plump in appearance over time, not dry and lacking lustre! Not only that, hydration gets the digestive system moving as stagnation can lead to the build up of bacteria and microbes in the gut, leaving the body in even more toxic state. Oh, try and keep the skin moisturised daily if possible with body oil, lotion and/or cream after washing.
Our therapist will discuss the importance of regular exercise especially strength training and following a healthy, alkaline-based nutrition, for a sustained healthy body, both inside and out.
